Haunted House & Scare Maze Design
For Traumatica at Europa-Park we turned the former Wax Museum into Cinema Macabre: a new route and a new story, with every screen room themed to a past maze of the event. We re-themed rooms with existing animatronics, built a Frankenstein laboratory painted completely in black-light lightning, and upgraded the space maze Unknown with activation set pieces and escape-room style puzzles.
We think about the guest and the actor at the same time. Dinner tables are strong enough for actors to walk on, tentacle arms are made of soft, safe foam, and boo holes are placed so actors can scare from several positions. Where it makes sense we reuse props from earlier mazes, so your budget goes into the scenes that matter.

Thematic upgrades throughout Unknown, a space-themed haunted house that uses escape-room mechanics to move guests from room to room. Can you re-theme a haunted house we already have?
Yes. Cinema Macabre at Traumatica was the former Wax Museum: we changed the route, the story and every room, reusing old props where they fitted.
Do you design spaces for scare actors?
Yes. We build actor spaces, boo holes, police mirrors and reach-through holes into the set, and make actor-worn props that are safe if they touch a guest.
Can you add interactive or escape-room elements?
Yes. For the maze Unknown we added levers, buttons and moving objects that guests use to unlock the next room.
